Meet Captain Janet Patton

Janet Patton, a multi-faceted individual hailing from Denton, TX, is a name that resonates in aviation circles around the world. With a passion for exploring new places and soaring through the skies, Janet has crafted a unique journey that intertwines her love for the past and the boundless horizons of the present.

With over 35 years of aviation experience, her journey began in the skies of Michigan, where she earned her wings at various small airports throughout Southeast Michigan. Janet's crowning achievement was realizing her dream of becoming Spirit Airlines' first female pilot in 1996. This groundbreaking accomplishment was further solidified when she ascended to the position of the airline's first female Captain in 1998. Such milestones shattered glass ceilings and inspired generations of aspiring aviators.

Janet's journey continued at American Airlines, where she soared to new heights as a Boeing 737 Captain stationed at DFW. Her passion for aviation remained undiminished, leading her to her current role as a Boeing 777 First Officer, flying international routes that span the globe. In addition to role as a First Officer, Janet also owns an aviation school where she shares the spirit of flying!
